Customer challenge

Experiencing significant demand growth in the UK, Flabelus needed to ensure its customers could get the shoes they love as quickly and seamlessly as possible. Previously, the brand managed all its UK sales from Spain, which led to complexity in cross-border customs and returns management, and longer fulfilment times. To address these challenges, the fast-growing brand needed a flexible fulfilment infrastructure to minimise delivery times and provide capacity for growth in line with its rapid expansion trajectory – while maintaining a consistently excellent customer experience.

Bleckmann’s approach

Bleckmann’s approach

Together with Flabelus, we developed a dedicated omnichannel logistics solution that provided the speed, service quality and integration the brand required. “Prioritising the customer at every stage has been central to our growth,” says María Fernándes-Álva de Zunzunegui, Global Operations Director at Flabelus. “Bleckmann has demonstrated the ideal balance of logistical expertise and commitment to service excellence.”

Faster omnichannel fulfilment

All of Flabelus’ UK omnichannel orders are now fulfilled from one of our distribution centres in Burton-on-Trent, strategically situated in the UK’s ‘logistics golden triangle’. This enables faster fulfilment times to both e-commerce and retail customers through an extensive network of ‘Local Hero’ distribution partners. Our footprint in Spain also helps to ensure end-to-end oversight of the supply chain throughout the fulfilment process.

Efficient operational integration

Seamless backend integration was also a key factor in reducing operational friction and reinforcing resilience. Through purpose-built integrations with the brand’s order management system (OMS) – combining orders from owned and marketplace e-commerce, and brick-and-mortar stores – we ensure operational agility, even during peak periods. In addition, our cross-border customs teams (working on both sides of the Channel) minimise the administrative workload for a more consistent product flow.

Solutions implemented

Omnichannel inventory management

Comprehensive operational oversight and an integrated fulfilment network deliver streamlined fulfilment across all channels. In-country distribution enables faster time-to-market and reduces the cost of the returns process by cutting customs complexity.

Simplified customs compliance

Under current trade agreements, products originating in the EU benefit from zero-tariff treatment. With an integrated cross-border framework for efficient and compliant declaration filings, our customs experts ensure valid proof of origin is always available.

Fully scalable inventory capacity

For fast-growing brands, extra room is not optional. Flexible warehousing space at our Burton-on-Trent site can be expanded as required to accommodate Flabelus’ growth, including temporary scaling (space and personnel) in response to seasonal peaks.

Seamless returns and exchanges

We manage the entire returns and exchange process for Flabelus, ensuring a streamlined experience aligned with the brand’s standards. Returned items are expertly inspected, sorted and returned to stock, for high operational efficiency and service quality.

End-to-end transportation

With our growing operational footprint in Spain, we can transport products from the Flabelus factory directly to our Burton-on-Trent warehouse in the UK. This simplifies order tracking and provides additional operational agility while improving accountability.
