Customer challenge

Customer challenge

DeMellier sells through three distinct channels – wholesale, retail and e-commerce – and needed a single, coordinated logistics operation to support all three to support its next phase of growth. That meant finding a 3PL partner with genuine international reach, capable of handling every order type without splitting operations across multiple providers or locations. Upholding a premium customer experience was another key requirement. DeMellier offers a considered client experience beyond the product itself, from a beautifully curated unboxing moment and a personalising option with complimentary monogramming to a lifetime repair service ensuring each of their pieces endure. With sustainability at the heart of the brand, DeMellier prioritised working with a partner who could support both their fulfilment and repairs for returned items under one roof to eliminate added shipping routes, helping reduce fuel consumption and overall environmental impact.

Bleckmann’s approach

Bleckmann’s approach

We run DeMellier’s entire omnichannel fulfilment out of a single site in Rieme, Belgium, at the heart of the Benelux region. From there, our teams manage transport and customs clearance across all inbound and outbound flows, shipping to customers worldwide. The set-up is built to handle sharp seasonal spikes without losing consistency, while leaving enough headroom for the brand to keep growing well beyond its current volumes.

That capability was essential during DeMellier's first Black Friday with us, when the operation processed close to 5,000 orders a day without a drop in accuracy or service quality. With around 5,000m² of scalable warehouse space behind it, the site gives DeMellier room to expand on its own timeline rather than being constrained by capacity.

To help deliver an outstanding experience for DeMellier’s customers, we established a dedicated core team at our warehouse who were trained directly by the brand. We installed monogramming machines in the warehouse to incorporate the brand’s signature personalisation service into the fulfilment process. Every order goes through a careful, multi-step packing process designed to protect the bag and replicate the brand's in-store unboxing experience – right down to details like how the bow is tied and where the gift note sits. This ensures that every customer enjoys a special unboxing experience.

Repairs run on two tracks. Warranty claims come into our warehouse, where items are inspected and graded by tier before we either repair them on-site or route them to a specialist third-party partner. Separately, repairs are built directly into the reverse logistics flow: returned bags are cleaned, restored where possible, and put straight back into sellable stock. The result is a warranty customers can rely on and higher sell-through rates – cutting material waste while keeping more stock in circulation.
