This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday. As the role supports a complex, fast-paced 24/7 operation, flexibility is required to meet business and operational needs. The salary on offer is up to £44,900.00 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Responsible for partnering with operational teams across a complex 24/7 logistics environment to drive Health & Safety excellence, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company standards, and promote a proactive culture of continuous improvement and risk management.
Promote a positive Health & Safety culture through coaching, engagement and visible floor presence
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and procedures
Conduct inspections, audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews
Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
Deliver inductions, training and Health & Safety awareness initiatives
Support and coach managers on Health & Safety responsibilities and best practice
Monitor Health & Safety performance and drive continuous improvement activities
Manage training compliance records and associated documentation
Oversee MHE fleet compliance, ensuring equipment remains safe and fit for purpose
Manage contractor compliance and site induction processes
Support employee wellbeing, return-to-work and rehabilitation activities where required
Act as a key point of contact for Health & Safety, compliance and regulatory matters
Build strong relationships with Operations, HR, Facilities and other key stakeholders
Profile:
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
Health & Safety experience within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or a similar environment
Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
Experience within logistics, distribution or e-commerce environments desirable
Experience with risk assessments, audits, inspections and incident investigations
Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills
Ability to influence behaviours and promote a positive safety culture
Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Flexible approach to support a 24/7 operation
Continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skills
