Responsibilities
As a Customs Project Specialist, you are part of our international customs organization. You apply your extensive customs expertise to coordinate and execute various international customs-related projects & new client onboardings and existing clients’ expansions in a hands-on manner, working directly with our internal & external customers.
Objectives
Delivery of Customs Projects
Identify project objectives, requirements, and timelines, and ensure the effective execution of tasks. Proactively identify potential obstacles and take action to secure successful project delivery. Act as the primary point of contact for all projects & Onboarding clients. Provide regular status updates to customers and to counterparts within the customs organization.
Customs Expertise
Apply your in-depth knowledge of customs regulations, requirements, procedures, and systems. Tailor your communication to the internal & external customer’s level of expertise and provide accurate, comprehensive advice on project-related and customs matters. Collaborate closely with customs colleagues and the customer to resolve challenges.
Customer Relations
Build strong customer relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on customs matters. Deliver effective customs solutions that meet customer needs. Handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally. Ensure customer satisfaction by providing high-quality service and resolving issues effectively.
Profile
- A higher education degree in logistics, supply chain, customs, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing customs compliance, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Thorough knowledge of customs compliance processes and regulations, including trade agreements, trade compliance, and clearance procedures.
- Excellent computer and software skills, including familiarity with relevant platforms and tools for supply chain and customs compliance.
- A customer-oriented mindset with a strong focus on delivering excellent service.
- A strategic mindset able to drive business results in alignment with all relevant regulations and laws.
- Strong communication skills , with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to think creatively and apply a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and across internal functions and teams.
