When a global leader in electronic learning toys needed to streamline and expand its logistics operations to support strong wholesale, retail as well as Direct-to-Consumer sales growth across Western Europe, Bleckmann was ready.

Previously, the client had been running two of its own distribution centres (DCs), covering the Western Europe region. But with over 100 product launches per year and a global distribution network of leading traditional and online-first retailers, the client needed an efficient and adaptable full-scope logistics solution that could cope seamlessly with peaks in demand.

What have we achieved?

Our strategically located DC in the East of the Netherlands provided the ideal centralized hub for the company’s expansion in Western European markets. Leveraging Bleckmann’s Local Hero network, we delivered efficient omnichannel distribution for retail, wholesale and e-commerce channels.

The entire implementation process took just six months, ensuring minimized disruption to service. Our advanced automation technology and flexible warehousing capacity were also essential for handling peaks in demand: over 90 trucks per day during the holiday season. And our barge solution for transporting freight from the Port of Rotterdam to the DC allowed us to reduce carbon emissions along the way!
